Bella Italia = Beautiful Food

by D Ryder
(San Jose, CA, USA)

In August, 2008, My wife and I enjoyed authentic Italian cuisine at Bella Italia, on Hernandez Macias, just across the street from Bellas Artes. The restaurant is located within an interior courtyard. We have enjoyed many restaurants in Italy and the cuisine at Bella Italia is the real deal, at very reasonable prices. The ravioli were freshly made and perfectly cooked "al dente."

The restaurant space is large and perhaps a little short on ambiance, but the service is prompt and friendly. What really impressed me is the owner's extensive Italian wine list. I honestly don't know how he manages to import so many fine wines from Italy at prices that are very affordable.

I am also told that there is live entertainment several times a week, including appearances by Doc Severinsen, Johnny Carson's Tonight Show bandleader. "Doc" lives in SMA.

Enjoyed the Music
by: Anonymous

Except for the music by Gil and Cartas, there's no reason to visit Bella Italia. Service and food are extraordinarily ordinary.
